Basic Beliefs
The following is a quick overview of some core tenets of our faith and what we teach at Fountain City Church. For a more in-depth look at the doctrine to which we ascribe, check out the Baptist Faith & Message.
GOD
We believe God exists eternally both as one essence and three distinct persons each of whom is fully God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We express this as the Trinity.

Scripture
God has made Himself known to humanity in and through Jesus Christ, Scripture, and His creation (the heavens and the earth). We believe in the authority and inerrancy of the Bible, which teaches us how to worship God and bring Him glory.

Creation
We believe that God created the universe from nothing and sovereignly governs all things at all times in all places.

Humanity
We believe that all men & women are created in the image of God to worship Him alone, possessing intrinsic dignity and worth.

Sin
We believe every man and woman has sinned and falls short of the glory of God, deserving God’s wrath and desperately needing salvation.

Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

Church
We believe that the Church is the bride of Christ and and that every believer should be identified with a local body of believers for the purpose of mutual encouragement, spiritual growth, and accountability.

purpose
We believe that Jesus Christ has called every believer to follow Him and to go into the world to make disciples who follow Christ completely.
